National Volunteer Week 2017: Volunteer Spotlight on David Barquero

David Barquero

David Barquero is a Sr. Clinic Assistant born and Raised in Miami.

1.Why do you volunteer?

It is a lifelong goal to be of service to others and the community.

2.What has been your most fulfilling volunteering experience with OUT Miami?

The Bowtie Bash! It was a marathon for me: unloading, loading equipment from the trucks and cars. Making name tags, sorting out auction tickets, setting up the bars. Helping vendors setup. It felt great seeing that the end product was everyone enjoying themselves and raising money for Out Miami Foundation.

3. Can you share a dream/hope you have for our local LGBT community?

For community engagement to increase and become a vital part of the Miami LGBT scene.
